  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Ooooooo, lovely zinnias. They're my favorite flower. :) (Also, hooray for Veronica Mars.)

Docta Whooooooooo!

And you totally neglected to mention that KEVIN SMITH directed the pilot. Any suckitude that may be imputed on the show should be withheld until we can see an episode that he didn't mucky up. I like that one of the commentators states that Jason Dohring quote would have been an more interesting lead, if the lead were darker or more conflicted end quote. My head spins at the possibility of the vampire noir with a complex, brooding Logan Eckles. It's like Natasha porn.

You're hilarious, because it was me who left that comment. Also, I think Kevin Smith is directing another show's pilot. The show is "Reaper" and it's about this guy who finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil and he and two friends try to get it back. According to IMDB, the second ep is tonight.
